When you try to open a Microsoft access table from the Database window, you receive the following error message:
Unknown
When you try to open an access database (.mdb) or to run Workgroup , you may receive the following error message:
Workgroup Administrator couldn't create the workgroup information file. Make sure you have specified a valid path and file name, that you have adequate permissions to create the file, and you have enough disk space on the destination drive. (-3100)
Error:
Microsoft access couldn't find file
system.mdw this file is required for startup
RESOLUTION
| 1. | Quit access if it is open. | ||||
| 2. | Click Start, and then click Run. | ||||
| 3. | Type the following line in the Open box, and then click OK.
| ||||
| 4. | Restart access, and then open your database file. | ||||
| 5. | In the Database window, try to open one of the tables. |

Steps to Reproduce the Behavior
| 1. | Quit access if it is open. |
| 2. | Click Start, and then click Run. |
| 3. | Type the following line into the Open box, and then click OK:regsvr32.exe /u C:\WINNT\system32\msjtes40.dllNOTE: The path to Msjtes40.dll may be different on your computer. |
| 4. | Restart access, and then open the Northwind sample database. |
| 5. | In the Database window, try to open one of the tables. Note that you receive the error message that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section of this article. |
